worst week

Hey guys...

thanks for being patient with me. It's been just over a week since I've last posted.

This week just had nothing going on for me. The weather absolutely sucked. It's been unbelievably cold and snowy, and I just haven't been able to get outside as much as I should be. In turn, it's made me feel pretty lousy and useless. This week has just sucked out loud.

On a brighter note, two good things have happened this week. I was mentioned on a radio show! The Figure Four Daily is a radio show by Wrestling guru Bryan Alvarez. I dropped him a quick email, and all of the sudden BAM! He mentions me on the show! I got several facebook requests and followers since that little advertisement... KEEP IT UP BRYAN! Also, I have been reading a lot more. I am simultaneously now reading Hitman, by Bret Hart, and A Lion's Tale, another wrestling autobiography, by Chris Jericho.

Chris Jericho is a man with all the confidence in the world. He always says...
I AM THE BEST IN THE WORLD AT WHAT I DO.
Now I am not very far in the book, but I do believe me and Jericho were a lot alike when we were younger. We idolized wrestlers. We saw them as superheroes, and we wanted to do all they could do, talk the talk, walk the walk, fly from the top rope and cover the other guy for the old 1-2-3 count. The people we looked  up to, however, seemed to all be 6 foot 8, 300 pounds of all muscle, and just completely larger than life. It is an obvious fact that not everyone can look like that. That is why we must set a reasonable goal. View someone with talents that seem to be  matchable in terms of what you can do yourself. For Chris, this man was the late, great Owen Hart. Owen wasn't too buff. He wasn't too tall. But the acrobatics he performed while in the ring were like nothing anyone had ever seen before. To reach his goal, Chris would have to take a different route then most professional wrestlers. He would follow a path set into motion by Owen Hart, and eventually would become the WWE's first Undisputed World Champion, and consequently becoming the best in the world at what he does. It was official.

I need to look at the world in a similar way. I know I'll never be in the greatest shape. I'll never be 180 pounds, running marathons and swimming across the english channel. Those are goals that just seem unreachable to me...

for now.

Thats why I've set my goal at 250 pounds for now. Thats why the title of my blog begins with "One Step Closer..."
A step at a time is the only way to go. As for the outcome, who knows?

Maybe I'll be on Broadway...

Maybe I'll be in the ring.
